“Thank you for your email, the jury trial scheduled for the week of your summons has been cancelled, so you are no longer required to attend. A letter confirming this has been sent to your summons address for your records.
The process to summon a juror is completely random, and is generated from the electoral roll. This means that you may be summonsed again in the future to be a juror. If you have changed any of the details that were on your summons, such as your address or name, you will need to update this with the electoral roll – this can be done at http://www.elections.org.nz/(external link).
Jurors make an important contribution to the New Zealand justice system and the wider community. Your commitment is very much valued and appreciated.
If you have any questions or queries, please contact our call centre on 0800 COURTS or visit https://www.justice.govt.nz/courts/jury-service/ “
