Wellington District Court

Kia ora,

All Jurors summoned for the week commencing Monday the 27th of January 2020 who have not been selected to sit on a jury:

  • Are NOT required on Tuesday the 28th of January 2020, but may be required on Wednesday the 29th of January 2020.

  • Check this website, or the jury answerphone on (04) 918 8055, after 6pm on Tuesday the 28th of January 2020 for further instructions.
  • Should anything urgent arise during the week that affects your ability to attend, please call 0800 COURTS and ask to speak to a Service Manager in the Criminal jurisdiction.

If the Service Manager is not available, please ask the Contact Centre representative to send them an urgent notification by email.

Those jurors already on a jury trial are asked to follow the instructions given to you by the Judge or court staff in your court.

We encourage jurors to use public transport to get to the court, whenever possible. Street parking around the Court has a 2-hour time limit enforced by Wellington City Council parking services. The Court does not pay car parking fines incurred whilst on jury service.

For more information on public transport, please see the Metlink website: https://www.metlink.org.nz/#plan (external link)

Jurors arriving by car are asked to ensure they have paid for parking up until at least 1:30pm, in the event that they are chosen for a jury.

All day paid parking is available:

• In the Stout Street carparking building (beside the Bed, Bath and Beyond store) which is adjacent to Wellington District Court

• At Wellington Stadium which is a 10-15 minute walk to the Court building.

Your contribution to the New Zealand justice system and your community is valued and appreciated.

Nga mihi/Thank you for you service
