During the Covid-19 Level 4 lockdown, the Trans-Tasman Occupations Tribunal will be closed.

Any hearings that had been set down during the period of the lockdown have been adjourned. You will be contacted with new dates in the future, once the lockdown has been lifted.

The Tribunal is unable to process any new or existing applications during this period of lockdown, however you may wish to submit new information to the email address on the website.

Thank you for your co-operation.

If you’re registered in Australia for an occupation, you can be registered in New Zealand for the equivalent of that occupation.

To apply to be registered in New Zealand, you need to apply to the New Zealand registration authority for that occupation.

Find New Zealand registration authorities on the Immigration New Zealand website(external link)

If you disagree with the decision of the registration authority, you can apply to the Trans-Tasman Occupations Tribunal for a review.

You can apply at any time.

The Tribunal can review the registration authority’s decision to:

  • impose conditions on registration
  • postpone the granting of registration
  • refuse registration.
