Notice of end of process for making and determining victims’ claims

Below is a list of offenders who have been awarded compensation and the funds have now been paid out.

John Adams

TAKE NOTICE that, pursuant to part 2, (subpart2) of the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005 (“the Act”), compensation awarded to John Adams was paid to the Secretary for Justice on 20 December 2019, and the surplus, was paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account on 14 January 2020 on behalf of John Adams to enable any victims of that offender to make claims against it.

AND THAT on 25 January 2020, notice was given by publication in the daily newspapers in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin and on
24 January 2020 on the website of the Ministry of Justice, of the sum of money paid into the Trust Account, and the entitlement of Victims of the offender to claim against this money and the manner to do so.

UNDER section 32(1)(b) of the Act, the Secretary for Justice has now paid out all of the money held in the Trust Account on behalf of John Adams.

Patrick Michael Cook

AND THAT on 7 February 2020, notice was given by publication in the New Zealand Gazette, on 8 February 2020, in the daily newspapers in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin and on 7 February 2020 on the website of the Ministry of Justice, of the sum of money paid into the Trust Account, and the entitlement of Victims of the offender to claim against this money and the manner to do so.

UNDER section 48(4) of the Act, the Secretary for Justice has now paid out all of the money held in the Trust Account on behalf of Lloyd Currie to a victim.
